Three Program Coordinators for Regional Recruitment- West Virginia University

 

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment at West Virginia University invites applications for three Program Coordinator for Regional Recruitment positions for the following markets. The candidate will be expected to work from a home-based office within the market.

Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator for Regional Recruitment plans and implements a student recruitment program designed to meet enrollment goals in a targeted geographic area with specific student populations. The Program Coordinator will manage all recruitment activities in the specified territory, including: high school visitations; college fair attendance; outreach to prospective students, guidance and career counselors, alumni, parent groups, and other constituents; and plan and manage special events. The regional recruiter conducts programmatic and individual activities while functioning as part of the larger WVU Admissions team, and serving as a liaison in their respective territory for the University. The Program Coordinator will also build relationships with community based and professional organizations related to recruitment in their assigned territory.

Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree and two or more years of related professional work experience. Consideration will be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree and four or more years of directly related experience. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required for this position and high energy is necessary as it includes heavy travel and night and weekend hours. In addition, an ability to independently manage and complete work assignments is mandatory.

New Jersey Regional Representative - SUNY Geneseo

SUNY Geneseo, in Upstate New York, is seeking a motivated individual to represent Geneseo at college fairs and high school visits in New Jersey.   The New Jersey Regional Representative will be responsible for approximately 4-6 weeks of Fall travel (mid September- beginning of November) and 2-3 week in the Spring (April- mid May).  Some overnight travel will be required.  Retired school counselors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Director of Admissions, St. Thomas Aquinas College (Rockland County, New York)

The College seeks a Director of Admissions to begin on or as soon after July 1, 2013 as possible. The position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and supervises a staff of 10 employees in the Admissions Office and is responsible for increasing new enrollment at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Director’s responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide leadership in the development and implementation of initiatives as they relate to recruiting prospective students; cultivating prospective students to apply; and raising the yield on applicants to enrolled students; and other initiatives as assigned by VP.

Provides a targeted number of enrolled students, meeting our goals for freshmen, transfer and graduate students as well as at specific scholarship levels and for special programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels while executing the enrollment management plan and utilizing the personnel and resources available.

Sets the visitation schedule for the recruitment staff.

Approves all applicants referred for scholarships and special programs.

Writes all communications from the college to prospective students, parents, teachers and the guidance community.

Ensures that the admissions print and online recruitment initiatives are accurate and support materials are on target for timely distribution. Works with the Director for Enrollment Marketing and Campus Communications on these initiatives.

Prepares reports using MS Access for the Enrollment Management committee.

Works with VP to implement strategies as a result of market research and information analysis that will be effective in achieving enrollment targets.

Oversees import process using NOLIJ software and the personnel for data entry of all applications by the data entry staff.

Assists in the development of relationships with high schools regarding additional courses at those high schools in concert with the Director of Institutional Research and Program Development.

Provides appropriate training opportunities for all staff members relative to the Banner system and other related software programs.

Maintains integrity of the student recruitment data base (Banner).  Develops reports through Microsoft Access for various offices on an as-needed basis.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the institution’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications: 5+ years of admissions experience with 3 years in a supervisory capacity in an admissions environment. Master’s degree preferred. Individual needs a superior background in admissions utilizing marketing skills with strong oral and written communications skills. Individual must be a goal-oriented supervisor. Individual must have developed contacts in secondary schools. Individual must be able to write reports and letters and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of faculty/staff, students, prospective students and parents and the general public. Individual must have ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Individual must have knowledge of student recruitment technology such as Banner, e-communications using vendors such as Target X; and have proficiency in MS Excel and Power Point. Individual must have superior organizational, collaborative and interpersonal skills.
