Located in northern New Jersey, Ramapo College of New Jersey invites applications for an open Admissions Counselor position. Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, this full-time position coordinates recruitment and follow-up activity for assigned territory.  Activities include the management of a recruitment territory, follow-up with prospective students, reviewing of applications, planning and execution of on and off campus recruitment events and other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assists with the execution and implementation of the Office of Admissions Recruitment Plan
  • Coordinates recruitment in assigned territory by representing the College at college fairs, high school visits and other recruitment and yield events.
  • Evaluates applications from assigned territories to determine admissibility to the College
  • Corresponds with accepted students, applicants and prospects as needed
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of on and off campus recruitment events (i.e. open houses, yield events, phone-a-thons)
  • Interviews and counsels prospective students and parents on the opportunities offered at the College
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Some admissions/recruitment experience is preferred.  Strong oral and written communication skills are required.  Experience working with a diverse population, preferably within a higher education environment is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of internet applications and Microsoft Office Suite is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SLATE CRM, Google Docs is preferred
  • Access to personal vehicle and valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours are required
