Information on the Department:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is a dynamic team of professionals who recruit for the full range of undergraduate programs within the College of Art and Design and The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. We serve traditional high school students, home-schooled students, international students, transfer students including adult learners seeking to complete their degree. We build relationships with guidance counselors, art teachers, transfer counselors, Community based organizations, and Community Colleges. As part of Lesley’s Enrollment Management team, we work with Student Financial Services to assist a student from the first point of inquiry through to enrolling for their first term of classes.

Job Description:

The Associate Director of Regional Recruitment will be responsible for the development and implementation of a domestic first-year recruitment plan that helps the University achieve its enrollment goals within a growing market. The representative must be physically based in the geographic area s/he manages and will serve as an extension of the home office. Responsibilities require planning and attending high school visits, community college visits, college fairs, off-campus interviews, portfolio reviews, information sessions and receptions within their assigned territory. This is a twelve-month position with consistent and regular travel throughout the year with peak periods of travel taking place during the fall and spring. This position will also return to campus a few times throughout the year to participate in trainings and major events. An integral part of the role is building and maintaining personalized working relationships with strategic high schools, secondary school counselors, art teachers, independent counselors, prospective students, families and Lesley alumni. This individual will be expected to counsel prospective students throughout the admissions process for both the College of Art and Design as well as the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Conduct timely outreach using text, phone, email, social media, web applications, personal interviews, portfolio reviews, and information sessions to effectively move students from inquiry through to enrollment. Manage applicant review processes, make admission decisions, and maintain strong communication channels with key influencers as well as applicant pool. The successful candidate will be effective at presenting key marketing messages and providing academic/artistic information leading to positive and informed decision-making between prospective students and Lesley University. In addition to recruitment and admission, the Associate Director of Regional Recruitment will collaborate with the Director of Alumni Ambassadors and will recruit, train, and supervise the work of the New Jersey Alumni Ambassador network.

The Associate Director of Regional Recruitment is expected to attend state and regional professional development conferences and support the regional association through leadership opportunities. S/he must be a strong communicator with polished presentation skills who can speak publicly to individuals or groups. S/he will be a go getter, who expects/prepares for change. A successful candidate will take initiative in identifying opportunities that will improve or benefit the University.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree.
-5-8 years of experience working in undergraduate admissions in student recruitment, university admissions, and/or guidance/college counseling.
-Demonstrated record of commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity while working with diverse student populations.
-Must currently reside in the geographic area of which this position manages; New Jersey.
-Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual accountability.
-Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously with the demonstrated ability to think strategically, take initiative, and work autonomously.
-Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking skills, and excellent written communication skills and the ability to effectively use phone, email, and social media to engage with prospective students.
-Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends and conduct consistent and regular travel throughout the year including to Lesley’s campus throughout the year to attend trainings and assist with events, peak periods of travel take place during the fall and spring; approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 6-8 weeks in the spring/
-Proficiency in working with Microsoft Word and Excel, managing databases (e.g., Colleague), web applications, CRM and have a willingness to continue to explore the use of technology and social media in the college admissions process.
-Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master’s degree.
-Knowledge of New Jersey area and schools.
Additional Information:

Salary Grade 27: $72,972 – $90,485

This is a remote position based in New Jersey.
