Responsibilities
- Identify and foster relationships with high schools, community-based organizations, and other potential sources of prospective students in assigned recruitment territory
- Evaluate academic credentials, complete transfer credit articulations for AP and college courses, and review applicants for admission from recruitment territory
- Coordinate and manage communications with prospective students and their families from assigned territory through email, phone calls, face-to-face meetings, etc
- Plan recruitment travel and represent the university at in-territory recruitment events
- Participate in and assist in coordinating admissions events such as open houses, information sessions, and admitted students days
- In addition to managing day-to-day communications with students in-territory, work alongside Enrollment Technology and Marketing and Communications to ensure coordinated outreach efforts to all prospective students regarding application completion, event registration, and related activities
- Develop, implement, and manage communication calendar
- Establish and implement policies, procedures, and standards for efficient and effective admissions communications and event registrations
- Provide actionable reports to assist leadership with decision-making
- Remain current on emerging technologies, innovative management tools, and admission best practices
- Represent the Office of Admissions on University committees, task forces and special assignments as required
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Other duties as assigned
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience may substitute for some of the above education
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of related experience in admissions or enrollment management
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience with Admissions information systems (i.e. Technolutions Slate and Ellucian Colleague)
Comprehensive knowledge of educational systems - Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds of Quinnipiac students
- Very strong sales skills
- Demonstrated understanding for the complexity of a substantial admissions operation
- Fluency and familiarity with various interconnected data management tools utilized in a data driven organization
- Team player with superior interpersonal skills, and a passion for innovation, brainstorming, and problem-solving
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced and changing environment and to lead with a positive and can-do attitude that supports the mission of the university
- High-level analytical skills and excellent computer skills, including the ability to work with advanced MS Office, Slate, and spreadsheets
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills required to interact effectively with a range of internal and external constituencies
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Ability to work nights and weekends
