The Director of Admissions for Graduate and Continuing Studies provides leadership in recruitment and marketing of adult students enrolling in continuing studies, transfer and graduate programs to achieve our mission and strategic planning goals. This position provides leadership for advisement of market demand for the delivery of academic programs and courses which are delivered to non-traditional undergraduate and graduate student populations through evening, weekend, online, and off-site locations. Collaborating with all university offices but especially Academic Affairs the incumbent will manage the logistics of the enrollment process of adult students. Additionally, the Director takes a “hand on” approach as an active recruiter to fulfill enrollment goals. The Director will provide leadership for development and delivery of professional training and continuing education needs for industry, government and education stakeholders and seeks new markets for SEU non-traditional and graduate programs.
-Manage the recruitment process for all graduate and adult programs. Including but not limited to: managing event calendars for staff within the department, create new lead generation activities, and implement new strategies for enrollment.
-Responsible for the recruitment activities, enrollment process, and goals for particular programs.
-Ensure Grad/CS staff are meeting all goals based on programs.
Work with marketing and communications to ensure programs are known in the local community and beyond.
-Create and maintain relationships with corporations, nonprofit organizations, and community colleges throughout New Jersey.
Manage relationships with area hospitals to ensure enrollment and partnerships for the University’s RN to BSN program.
-Run weekly reports to follow the progress of applicants through the recruitment funnel.
-*Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; plus occasional nights and weekends.
-Out of office travel can be up to 50% within the state of New Jersey.
-Assist the VPEM in developing a strategic vision for the unit in support of the University’s mission, vision, core values and strategic plan.
-Maintain a strong working relationship within the Enrollment Management Division to assure timely recruitment, processing and enrollment of adult students.
-Provide strategic vision and direction regarding emerging markets and enrollment opportunities.
-Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, database systems and email programs
-Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
-Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
-Ability to organize and direct major work operations and work under pressure of short deadlines.
-Experience with adult markets and recruitment strategies.
-Demonstrated knowledge of and success in higher education with adult learners.
-Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of students, staff and leadership and outside constituents with strong presentation skills
-Valid driver’s license
-Considerable knowledge of New Jersey, neighboring communities and major corporations.
-3-5 years experience in graduate and/or adult recruitment and marketing.
