Job Description:

VCU’s Office of Admissions is in search of a part-time recruiter in New Jersey. The Regional Recruiter will work from home and will assist with the coordination of recruitment strategies for new students in targeted areas in New Jersey. They will assist with the coordination of recruitment and yield events and provide customer service and information about the university to prospective students, their parents, school counselors and other constituencies. Serving as a university liaison, the recruiter will develop relationships in target markets, attend college fairs, visit area high schools, send emails, make phone calls to prospective students, assist with the reading of admission applications, and perform other duties as assigned. This position requires travel in targeted areas making it ideal for the candidate to live in New Jersey. Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed if relocating for this position.

Required Qualifications:

-Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direct supervision
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Experience with public speaking, presenting a strong comfort level with making presentations to large groups of people
-Ability to work with a diverse population
-Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask
-Ability to use office automation including word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software
-Ability to meet deadlines
-Ability to provide excellent customer service
-Willingness to travel to VCU annually for training and other recruitment events
-Driver’s license and valid car insurance
-Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

-Knowledge of VCU programs
-Knowledge of assigned recruitment territory and targeted demographics in that area
-Experience in college admissions or experience in advising high school students in the college application process
