The duties of the President -Elect shall be to:

1. Preside at any meeting of the Association in the absence of the President and to assist the President as requested.
2. Succeed to the office of President in the event of a vacancy in that office;
3. Chair the Conference Planning Committee and coordinate the activities of the Conference Planning Committee.
4. Serve as a delegate to the National Assembly of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
5. Perform such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the President, attend and assist in leading the NJACAC Summer Leadership Retreat.
6. With the President, represent the Association at the following forums:
   1. NACAC Leadership Development Retreat (LDI) (mid -summer)
   2. Legislative Conference in Washington D.C. (usually March)
   3. NACAC National Conference (late September/early October)

President-Elect Candidate

How have your previous roles in NJACAC have prepared you to take on the presidential role & responsibilities? How have your experiences with NACAC prepared you?

I have served on the Board as IAS Co-Chair and as Secondary School Representative for the past 3 years and believe that attending Board meetings and retreats has allowed me to see how NJACAC is run and allowed me to better understand how to lead NJACAC.  I have been a member of our National Association (NACAC) for 2 years.  It has given me the opportunity to meet with other state affiliate IAS Chairs via conference call on several occasions to discuss what each state’s IAS committee contributes to its state affiliate.  As NJACAC IAS Co-Chair, I have met with other state affiliate IAS Chairs via conference call on several occasions to talk about what each state’s IAS committee contribute to their state affiliate.

Candidate Message:

Since becoming involved in NJACAC, I have wanted to serve the organization in some way and am lucky to serve currently as Secondary School Representative and Co-Chair of Inclusion, Access and Success Committee.  I am excited be involved in an organization that is willing to try new things and address what is going on in the world and in our field.  I would like to continue evolving and instituting new programs that NJACAC offer and growing our membership and involvement in the association. Important issues for NJACAC to address include: equity, COVID-19, and how our roles as college admissions counselors and school counselors are evolving.
