From High School to College: Dual Enrollment, AP Credits, and Community College Transfers

  • Ocean County College 1 College Drive Toms River, New Jersey, 08754 United States (map)

Understanding course selection and advising AP (Advanced Placement) scores and their transferability.

As opportunities for high school students to earn college credit continue to expand, school counselors play an essential role in helping students and families navigate an increasingly complex landscape. This workshop is designed to provide high school counselors with the knowledge and tools needed to confidently advise students on dual enrollment courses.

Participants will explore the benefits and potential challenges of earning college credit in high school, including academic readiness, transferability of credits, college admissions considerations, financial implications, and the long-term impact of creating a permanent college transcript.

Finally, we will talk about the transfer options available to community college students upon graduation.

Lunch will be provided!
